Background information:
- Young trees absorb CO₂ at a rate of 13 pounds per tree each year;
- Trees reach their most productive stage of carbon storage at about 10 years at which point they are estimated to absorb 48 pounds of CO₂ per year;
- Our growth timeframe is ten years and including a total CO₂ absorption of 300 pounds / 135 kilograms. This equates to 675,000 kg’s absorbed by 5,000 trees per acre with each tree spaced at 0.8m2;
- Average person worldwide causes 8 tonnes of CO₂ per year to be produced.
