Global Tree Xchange’s climate, science and environmental consultant and auditor is Miss Riezel Jalover (Bsc, MMarbiol)

The auditor confirms adherence to a stringent certification process. This is done utilizing the ‘mission verification process’ (MVP system) and annual independent auditing. The auditors’ monthly responsibilities include (but not limited to) the following:

  1. Ensure all offsets sold are delivered within three months of the purchase date;
  2. Verification of bona-fide records for the following for every site:
  • all registered and recorded flight paths;
  • accuracy of planting site GPS coordinates;
  • seed inventory register;
  • Utilising high definition satellite photography to confirm tree growth at previously planted areas.
  1. Ensure adherence to the Global Tree Xchange’s environmental policy;
  2. Measurement of performance in relation to relevant environmental compliance requirements;
  3. Ensure contracted land owners / holders comply with the terms of their contract with GTX;
  4. Monitor statistical data on progressive growth rates for the entire network based on increasing CO2 absorption as trees become more established;
  5. Visit sites personally or utilise a verified third party to confirm planting and growth at newly established planting locations;
  6. Ensure either owned property of owned offsets within the network allows GTX’s operations to remain carbon neutral at all times;
  7. Ensure continuous improvement of the GTX’s environmental performance and accuracy of product verification to GTX’s partners is being routinely implemented.
